Buying Guide: Key Purchase Considerations
- Fabric type: Bamboo rayon fabrics offer cooling and moisture management; microfiber sheets are lightweight and wrinkle-resistant; cotton variants vary in feel and breathability.
- Deep pockets: Look for fitted sheets that fit up to 16 inches if you have a thick mattress or pillow-top mattress.
- Weave and finish: Sateen and percale finishes affect softness and texture. Silky finishes feel warmer for some but stay smooth for many sleepers.
- Care and durability: Check if the fabric is machine washable, and whether it holds up after multiple washes without pilling or fading.
- Allergy considerations: Look for OEKO-TEX or similar certifications if sensitive skin is a concern.
- Room and climate fit: For hot sleepers, prioritize breathable fabrics with moisture-wicking properties; for colder climates, consider slightly warmer weaves like flannel options.
